Hi I have installed Windows Multipoint 2012 on an old Dell PowerEdge 840 server we had kicking around just to run some tests (it will never go into production). This has an ATI ES1000 onboard.
It should be a simple INF edit that solves this one would think.just needs someone who has done this before. Can't see there being a huge difference between the 2008 R2 drivers and 2012 drivers required here. What video card specifically and have you tried installing the drivers in compatibility mode?
Hey timjosten, I also have a box with a ES1000 (RN50) running Windows Server 2012R2 so I tried the drivers in your link on it. Getting past the unsigned driver part went fine but then it said 'wrong version of windows.'
I installed Windows Server 2012 on ML320 G6 and I can not find drivers for the video card (ATI ES1000). Last SPP has not helped. Hi, I am using an Intel motherboard S5000VSA which hosts an Integrated graphics card ATI* ES1000. I was thinking of moving to Windows 7 Ultimate from Linux. 1950 III and the ATI ES1000 graphics just. For Windows XP to work with Windows SERVER 2012 is. 64 bit es1000 driver ( hopefully server 2012.
I modified it so it can support higher resolutions and hardware acceleration. DirectDraw and Direct3D are also enabled. Basically, I have copied registry settings from 6.11 catalyst and pasted them into this driver. I recommend setting 16 bit desktop color mode, as this card is very old and has low onboard memory.

I have never tried modding drivers so I have no idea where to begin. Is there a way to make the Server 2012 driver you created work on Server 2012R2? Thank you for any help or info you might have! This is exactly why I hate AMD as a company. They stop producing drivers and support for there crappy products and force you to bin perfectly good hardware. The RN50 is a very niche, server-based, DirectX6 PCI IGP, so it's not surprising they stopped providing support for it. AMD also had a significant amount of architecture overhauls, both software and hardware side since then.
As for HP's decision not to support Windows Server 2012 on this line of servers, I am not pleased with their decision, but I don't think that they are the primary responsible party in this decision. It appears that the G6 series was, by and large, a proponent of the ATI ES1000 Graphics chipset. This chipset currently has no driver support within Windows Server 2012 (and may never, for that matter).

Please point us to any MODERN enterprise server that actually ship with either of these 2 video cards currently.?The fact that Microsoft hasn't written a driver for it yet is incredibly annoying, especially when working with multiple Hyper-V VM's. Other than the Standard VGA driver which is used when there is no in-box driver for a video card, Microsoft simply does not write the drivers for video cards. That is up to the OEM of the video card.
