A google search revealed that that the card being used is Realtek SoundMax ALC660. Then googling for the driver, I found this site.

Then googling for the driver, I found this site. The driver provided here worked wonderfully and now my PC has the audio back.

How many speakers do you have, just the two? Sub woofer and a speaker?

For those who have the experience, or know someone who does, purchase a new plug, which a Mini DIN 8 pin (RS-422 standard). It should be available at any good electronic parts store. Solder new plug on to cable, which requires a fine electronic soldering iron and a fair bit of skill (the wires are very fine).

When u cut the PCB from both sides u will find 4 cables i.e. Green blue yellow and a copper wire coming from woofer and 3 cables white, red, yellow coming from audio lead. Connect the green cable to copper cable and yellow to blue coming from woofer. Now take white cable coming from audio jack.connect this with yellow blue cables of woofer. Now attach Red and Yellow, connect these to green and copper cables of woofer and enjoy. If problem persist then make experiment to make interchanges with red white yellow coming from audio lead to the 2 sections of woofer side.

If you do not have 9 wires, that is not unusual, just do the procedure with what wires are available. If you cannot get the outer jacket off of the current 9 pin connecter, then you will need a Volt/Amp meter. Here you simply cut the wire approximately 1/2 to 2/4 Inch back from the cable 9 pin adapter, and locate the pin that corresponds to the colored wire. Using the RESISTANCE part of a meter, when you touch the two probes together the needle moves on the scale. Touch one end to a pin and try each colored wire end until you see the movement on the scale. Now you know what color corresponds with each pin. Solder each colored wire as mentioned above.

By the way both speakers rated at 4 Ohms checked to be good also. Note: The above schematic diagram does not reflect the true circuitry found in the computer speakers. It is just for your reference purpose. When I placed my meter probe between point A and ground (above schematic) the meter buzzer sound indicated short circuit. It can be shorted components or the IC. I removed all the corresponding components and found that the short circuit was still present.

When your amplifier is powered from a higher voltage then its maximum current is also higher.

A replacement of new IC solved the no sound problem in the left speaker. Tip 1- For a working unit, when you touch Vin 1 or Vin 2 with your bare finger you will hear humming sound from the speakers.
