She could swim and saved her twin’s life, but she died. It’s a compelling mystery that, I trust, will unfold gradually with rich complexity.
No turning back now. Meanwhile, Tae-gwang snaps a picture of himself dangling Eun-bi’s backpack over the river. As soon as he gets the picture, he hugs the backpack close, with no intention to actually throw it into the water. Yi-an walks Eun-bi home, tossing in some good natured jokes to lift up her mood.
I recommend this for a younger viewer and it is enjoyable for all ages.
So many questions pop in my mind. Did Eun byul's mom knows the existence of Eun bi?
You need to talk with them to understand their real intention in order to finish it. Just like how the woman spent the 3 days together with the bully. Great job, ma'am!
In some instances, distinct bullying happens because the perpetrators have some anti-social or psychopathic tendencies. But in most cases, it happens because of the behaviour of the potential victims. Yes, that's basically victim-blaming, but from personal experience, I can tell you that, for me, bullying didn't stop when the bullies where expelled or constricted.
Then in the former there's been King of Pigs, Han Gong-ju, and Elegant Lies. That's just off the top of my head, and I'm only mentioning the titles I think other commenters here are likely to recognize. Of course, just because it happens in fiction doesn't necessarily mean it happens in real life. But it would be extremely strange for all this ink to be spilled over a non-existent problem. It's also worth noting that, if anything, Western media downplays the problem more than Korean media plays it up. Looking at any industrialized country's bullying statistics makes for a pretty grim picture. One very consistent part of all the portrayals I've seen is that bullying's causes have more to do with modernity than anything quintessentially Korean.
That's the info I got. Please fix me if there's some errors:) Hope this answers your curiousity.
Then she breaks the silence by saying that she’s hungry, so they go off for food in their usual rapport. As they eat ramen outside the convenience store, Yi-an asks Eun-bi if she put the medal in safekeeping. She nods and asks about the promise. He explains that he promised to give her the first medal he won at a national competition and only now gave it to her because she refused to take it when he visited her at their class trip to Tongyeong. Eun-bi remembers Yi-an mentioning that he briefly went to Tongyeong but only saw the person he wanted to see before leaving.
Did anyone notice that they are trying to show that the kids learn bullying from the parents. Ra-Jin's bully gets a beating as soon as they leave his house.
This is drama anyway. But these kind of bully not only happen in korea. I am sorry for my lack english. I don't think eun bi amnesia. She is not eun byul. So obviously she's not familiar with eun byul environment. I haven't been this intrigued by a first episode since Liar Game, and both shows have a dark tone.
Thanks for recap! Thanks dramabean! I personally saw several kind of bully. But i rarely seen the bully that as harsh as shown at drama. But once in while in news even elementary school student bully their friends that cause a death. The bully like drama are exist and maybe as dirty or even dirtier in real life. Just the birth secret or swapping character a a bit dramatic.
She realizes now Yi-an’s feelings for Eun-byul. As he finishes Eun-bi’s ramen, Yi-an mentions that they used to come to this convenience store often for food.
Just started watching this (went through all six episodes in one go). So-young is a psycho.
If Eun Byul died they would've seen her face and figured it out but then the question arises, how did the accident happen? Did Eun Byul die after pulling Eun Bi up out of the waters and onto land? Or did she pull her sister above water level, someone spotted them and called for help, but she died trying to keep eun bi alive? Honestly Eun Byul's death doesn't really make sense to me.
Haha, I even threaten to see BOTH his parents (normally his mum will meet with the teachers) and he gets worried when I do that. In fact, he tries to keep as low-key as possible, which is the opposite from what I see in the dramas. I'm not speaking from a moral or legal perspective, simply from a psychological one.
It’s clear that So-young sees her powerful father as a shield from any possible blowback, and even tells the orphanage director that her father is on a scholarship committee and would like to help out Love’s House. Eun-bi sits there in nervous confusion, trying to see what her bully is getting. Meanwhile, the high school students settle into their hotel rooms, playing games and having fun. Eun-byul remains in her funk, and reads a clipping featuring Love’s House with a photo of Eun-bi in it.
Yet she can revert back to being sweet and charming without much of a sweat. That is psychopathic behaviour right there. This girl is no longer just a bully, she has a psychological disorder. There are kdramas that break the rules. They are few and far between, but they are there.
It really messes some people up for a long time. My daughter attends a private Christian school that is very open minded and accepting. There are actually non-Christians in the school that love it. When my child was bullied the school's pastor (a woman) got the bully suspended from classes for three days and spent those three days with him, doing counseling and reading the Bible. The story goes that after finishing his third day, he left her office, knelt down on the floor in the hallway, and shouted 'Thank you Jesus!' He was so glad to be done.
One very consistent part of all the portrayals I've seen is that bullying's causes have more to do with modernity than anything quintessentially Korean. In School 2015 too, Eun-bi is mainly a victim of class differences, bystander effect, enabling modern technology, and straight up sociopathy. None of these are Korean inventions.
Lets not forget that the bullies are kids too, and they are young, ignorant, and easily influenced by others. Things will gradually change for the better as they grow up in a positive environment. However there are instances of more severe bullying as well, such as physical violence or even sexual harassment. Perpetrators of such school bullying are generally in their teens or late teens and they turn out like this due to negative influences from their growing environment. That's why it is important to counsel them from young. Okay I feel like I've deviated quite a bit.
I'm feel bad for Yi-an. The person that he loves is Eun byul not Eun bi. If Eun byul doesn't die and comes back, the plot will be twisted! The main reason I write the comments are do anyone agree with me that Yi an so handsome and his smile!
She buries her head in shame, but two messages from Jung Soo-in steal her attention. The first one asks Eun-byul to meet one last time at the library and promises not to bother her again. The following message gives her the call number for the book. But when Eun-bi finds the book at the school library the next day, there’s nothing inside the book. When Eun-bi returns to class, she finds So-young getting along with her two friends. Soo-jung excitedly announces to Eun-bi that she got a callback for the school uniform modeling, and Eun-bi congratulates her. So-young asks Eun-bi to give her a tour of the campus later, and her friends note that she probably has trouble getting around herself.
Outside, So-young asks Eun-bi to help her with her worries, and Eun-bi quickly declines. But as soon as So-young mentions a bullied girl from Tongyeong, Eun-bi stops in her tracks. This girl used to be president of the class, but one misstep resulted in her downfall. In a flashback to Tongyeong, we see So-young taking a picture of a classmate solving a problem on the board and posting it in their class chatroom along with an insulting comment about her short height.
All you have to do is try even harder? And then her mom says 'lets go into art this time'. Do you know how that feels?

This were kids go to cram school after school and come home at 10pm with no life at all. This is a girl that has had her path planned out by her over-achieving parents who want her in Seoul University (or else). She hasn't been able to breathe for years and doesn't know herself – what she likes or wants to do. She obviously totally lacks confidence and feels inferior to her parents, and fears not being able to live up to their impossibly high expectations. They don't give much time to her story, so there's gaps we've got to fill in ourselves I suppose, but I can totally see where she's coming from and why she's so lost.
She looks at a picture of Eun-byul on her mirror and asks her, “Unni, did you know? It seems Han Yi-an really liked you.” At school the next day, So-young finds the missing person ad with Eun-byul’s face and puts the pieces together. Eun-bi and Eun-byul must be twins. In attempts to make up with Eun-bi, So-young brings her a drink and apologizes. She extends her hand, but Eun-bi doesn’t take it. She rejects the apology and walks out of the room, causing her classmates to note that abrasive Eun-byul must be back. As she walks through the school, Eun-bi is suddenly stopped by a classmate.
But they know that they'll be in big trouble if they bully him.) Now though they may not be that close to him, they don't taunt him and actually accept him. They find him amusing.
She says that they grew up knowing everything about each other, as though Yi-an is nothing more than a sometimes-annoying buddy. But then Eun-byul gets a text that darkens her mood immediately. It’s from a girl named Jung Soo-in, and says, “Just because it’s in the past doesn’t mean it never happened.” Eun-byul seizes up in shock—definitely scared, maybe even guilty.
I've always wondered whether schools in Korea have the level of bullying that dramas portrayed, cause if they do, it's truly disturbing. I never experienced bullying myself, but in elementary I often stood up for kids who were bullied. The only reason why I never got in trouble afterward was because I always had teachers on my back. I'm sure if I didn't have that, my story would be different too. Now that we are all adults, at least we should recognize that kids who are bullied can't be left to their own device and expected to stand up for themselves. Also to recognize that no matter how wonderful we think our kids are, our kids also are capable of being bullies too. So learn to teach them to take responsibilities of hurting others instead of always standing up for them when they're clearly in the wrong.
I can't abide bullying, no matter what country, or what form it takes. I really hope Eun-bi is okay, and Eun-byul is okay, because already I'm looking forward to seeing them together. The whole twin-switch thing is never overdone, in my book, and I'm really eager to learn why the mother gave Eun-bi up but kept her sister. Skype previous version download.
